The Jaguar XE SV Project 8 Is The World's Fastest 4 Door Sedan
$187,500 may sound like an astronomical price for a Jaguar XE, but the Project 8 is nothing like the car it's based on. It's been lightened, fitted with more aggressive aerodynamics, and tuned for performance. Its supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 producing 592 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque enables a zero-to-60 mph time in 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 200 mph. Coupled with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, Carbon Ceramic Matrix brakes, and a huge rear wing the Project 8 careens past cars like the Ferrari Enzo, Mercedes AMG SLS Black, Porsche 997 GT3 RS 4.0, and Lamborghini Aventador.
But while it's true the Project 8 has four doors, if you want to step into the back you'll be greeted by a trestle of metal bars. That's because the Project 8 can be optioned with a Track Pack removing the rear bench seat for a Sabelt four-point harness, carbon fiber front bucket seat, and safety rollcage. So a car like the Nissan GT-R, with only two doors, doesn't need a roll cage to set its record making it the world's fastest car capable of carrying four people. Fortunately it's optional, and those rear seats can be yours if you want them.
Good performance, good sound, and good looks - the Project 8 has all the fittings of a modern super sedan. The only problem is Jaguar is making 300 of them worldwide, and you know cars this attractive are already spoken for.
